Advocacy and Empowerment: Growing Roots strives to create parent advocates that can become their child's strongest supporters in order to achieve their greatest potential. We embody teaching practices that empower parents by teaching material that is relevant, functional and above all gives them tools to help themselves.

Cultural and Socioeconomic Diversity: Growing Roots believes that all families should be treated equally regardless of language, culture or socioeconomic differences. We celebrate differences and tailor our material and classes to best fit the family's learning style.

Integrity and Accountability: Growing Roots presents factual and objective information to families regarding their child's disability. Information is presented so parents can make informed decisions regarding their child's care. We hold our staff and volunteers accountable for providing the highest level of service at all times.

Individualized Support: Although Growing Roots teaches classes in a group setting, each family will be addressed individually in order to best meet their needs. Class content can be modified to best meet the  family's learning style and resources will be provided based on that family's particular areas of interest.

Confidentiality and Privacy: Growing Roots honors each family for discussing their experiences and knowledge related to a particular diagnosis. We do not share information with other parties and comply with our confidentiality policy at all times. Although families are encouraged to share during classes, Growing Roots does not require that families discuss their personal experiences in order to participate in the courses.

Active Participation: Growing Roots creates an environment that fosters participation and interaction between families and instructors so that families can become the leaders of their journey with a child with disabilities.
