Our Programs
All classes are available in Spanish and English. Each program includes an educational and support component within each session. All programs will offer quarterly support groups after class completion. Classes are free of charge.

6 week course for Spanish and English speaking parents of premature babies. Course begins while parents are still in NICU and babies are 30-36 weeks gestational age and then continues in the community after NICU discharge.
Course topics include: "Bringing baby home", "My baby's development", "Who are all these doctors and therapists?", "Navigating the medical system", "How can I help my baby at home?" and "Social/Emotional Development."

Prenatal and Parenting workshops with rotating topics for expectant mothers with a previous history of trauma. Designed in collaboration with The Office of Parental Representation, a public defender's office in Travis County, TX.
Course topics include:" Prenatal Care", "Bonding and Attachment", "CPS 101", "How to Care for Baby at Home", "Sibling and self-care", "Nutrition and Mental Health for Parents", "Play and Reading for Development". Starting Summer 2012.
Monthly modules for Spanish and English speaking parents with children enrolled in special education in the public schools. Held at Terrazas Public Library. Spanish speakers meet 2x/month and English-speakers meet 1x/month. 10:30-12:30pm.
Course topics include:"Reading my child's IEP", "Preparing for ARD meetings", "Who are all these professionals working with my child?", "Community resources for my child and family", "Services and eligibility", and "Transition from school at adulthood". Five week course for Spanish and English speaking parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Course topics include: "Understanding Autism", "Setting up the home environment", and "Becoming your child's advocate". Starting Spring 2012.
